    Razvan will talk about digital publishing on the open web with CSS Regions, CSS Exclusions, CSS Filters, and more.

    Jackson's talk will discuss the performance of web views relative to web pages and native views as measured by Facebook's mobile apps.

    What the f*** is open source and why do I feel so guilty? An illustrated look at the history of open source, where we are today, and what motivates us to do it.

    Whenever we start a new design we often return to old habits: page structure is the same as ever (with a header, footer, aside and navigation), we still assume everybody has a mouse and the desktop is still leading. In this talk Vasilis will look at some new defaults that have emerged the last few years. He'll show some design patterns and some approaches for interaction, functionality and content that better suit the needs of the current and future web.

    CSS2.1 was two dimensional: There was no concept of depth or time. CSS3 brings us some control over both, with transitions and animations for the latter. In this talk we will start from the basics of these new specifications, but will quickly move to more advanced tips and tricks to fully leverage these exciting technologies.

    Tim will talk about the best way to build your app in 2012, shedding light on common application architectures, infrastructures and features. What are the old habits you need to shed, and the new ways people are building beautiful, powerful apps, for web & mobile, from Silicon Valley to Seoul?

The Festival schedule

We have 4 great full days planned, consisting of:

  • Saturday (1 December): Start of Festival and the Hack Battle
  • Sunday (2 December): Hack Battle ends. Official opening party
  • Monday (3 December): Conference day. Afterparty!
  • Tuesday (4 December): Workshop day. End of the Festival :-(
